The midnight library by Matt Haig

As someone who has enjoyed previous works by Matt Haig, I eagerly anticipated his latest novel, the midnight library. Why? Well the synopsis says that between life and death there is a library and within that library there are shelves with books that provide endless possibilities to live another life you could have lived. If you made different choices, had no regrets, just how different would your life have been? A great concept, so I added it to my wish list ready to click ‘order’ upon its release date.

There is more to this story than just our main character, Nora jumping from one life into another as she hovers between life and death in her root life. The story explores what it means to live, what it means to find comfort in one’s life and really makes you reflect upon your own circumstances.
Nora Seed may be living in a depressive state, but as she lives one life after another she discovers things about herself that she never thought possible. We journey with Nora, and become a part of that journey with her. We also learn what the library actually is.

This is a wonderful story and beautifully written, you feel every emotion poured into it from Matt. It is a raw story, one that resonated with me and one I needed to read at this time. It is now a beautiful treasured book on my shelves. Thank you Matt.
